Special Ed Tutoring
Questions before you choose tutoring
A good next step starts with clear information. These answers explain the starting points on this site; your consultation is the place to discuss the details of a proposed plan.
Is the tutoring online?
Yes. SET provides one-to-one online tutoring. Ask about the current technology and materials needed for the arrangement you are considering.
Do I need to know which program to choose?
No. You can begin with a no-cost tutoring consultation and describe what you would like help with. The service descriptions are starting points for that conversation.
How are the tutoring options different?
Homework Help starts with current assignments. Supplemental Learning focuses on concepts from current coursework. Enhanced Learning looks at foundational skills. Homeschool tutoring is discussed alongside your home-education plan.
How is a tutor selected?
The process begins with a conversation about the learner’s needs, strengths, interests and goals. Ask which experience is relevant to your child and how the proposed match would work.
How often would sessions take place?
Discuss the proposed focus and schedule with the team. Ask how the proposed session arrangements relate to that focus.
What does tutoring cost?
Ask for the current price and complete terms for the plan you are considering. Tutoring pricing is separate from the $29.95, 30-minute IEP phone consultation.
What should I prepare for the consultation?
Bring a brief description of the learning questions, examples of relevant work and your questions about tutoring. You do not need to choose a program before contacting us.
Is an IEP consultation the same as tutoring?
No. The paid IEP call is a separate conversation about specific IEP questions and practical next steps. The no-cost tutoring consultation is for discussing tutoring options.
